Make a Statement and The Story of Your Home
Statement walls are great in differentiating your home from others. Howvever, injecting character and a personal touch of your home as homeowners is equally important, if not more crucial in crafting the story of your home.
The key challenge of this project is the unusual layout of the 5-room flat, where various tones and textures of the wood elements were introduced in a modern, streamlined treatment. This allows the entire look of the house to be harmonious and fitting to the homeowners’ design preference of having warm wood materials.
Chevron Statement Wall
In order to work with the beam that cuts right in the main living space, an enlarged brown walnut chevron feature wall was implemented, where the TV wall and the side of the dining space shows a different, reflected version of the slanted wood pattern.
Sofa in an Open Space
With the strong presence of the wooden chevron design, it becomes the focal point of the space naturally. This is why the sofa takes on the role of adding personality and character to the open space living room area.
The homeowners picked out Luceo L-shape grey fabric sofa with wooden storage arm as their choice of sofa, where the couple get to display their personal items on the wooden storage arm which also functions as display shelves.
This open concept home allows the wooden sofa arm to be curated according to the preferences of the couple and to show off what they are currently loving, which includes - a quirky Ultraman toy mask, a potted plant and some books for easy access.
Matching Interior Style and Furnishings
Towards the other side of the chevron wall is the dining area with matching Flex dining chairs upholstered in grey fabric, which is part of the Bolda dining set.
Extending from the brown walnut feature wall, the frame and legs of the Bolda quartz top dining table and Flex dining chairs are also constructed in the same production method by bonding the walnut veneer material with robust metal material. The pristine white quartz top on the Bolda dining table is elegantly reflected by the circular copper drop-down light fixture. The combination of the copper and walnut material makes for a perfect modern touch.
Making it Work with Interior Style
Converging the chevron feature wall of the living and dining room is a walk way, away from the living space and into the rooms. This home was charmingly designed by the ID over at The Interior Lab. Smart use of assorted wood materials, with its sleek look to the choice of furnishings brings out the essence of cozy modern living.
Special thanks to The Interior Lab for sharing with us more about the project and for the images used in this article. We are pleased with how Cellini furniture complemented the unique, enlarged walnut chevron wall in this home.
